The Charlotte Hornets is an American-based Basketball team which is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. They have competed in National Basketball Association NBA. Charlotte was buildin 1988 as a team acknowledge by George Shinn. George Shinn move suffrage to New Orleans. The team continued playing as Hornets until they changed their name to “New Orleans Pelicans”.
History
New Orleans Pelicans started playing under the name of Charlotte Bobcats in the 2004 and 2005 seasons. In 2006 Michael Jordan a member of the NBA bought a minority stake in authorization and started managing their basketball operations. In 2010, a group led by Michael Jordan bought the majority of shares in the franchise. The Charlotte Bobcats announced that they would be playing under the name of Charlotte Hornets in season 2014-15. In 2023, Jordan sold the majority of shares to an ownership group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall. Now he has a minority of shares in company ownership.
