Washington Wizards was established in 1961. They have gone through many name changes and relocations. Originally they were started as Chicago Packers but in 1995, the team rebranded as Washington Wizards. They are known for their vibrant colors which are navy blue, Gold, and white. Wizards have experienced many periods of success from the championship of the NBA to the Hall of Fame.

History

Washington Wizards was founded in 1961. Originally, their name was Chicago Packers.In 1962, they were named Chicago Zephyrs, and in 1963 they renamed their name from Chicago Zephyrs to Baltimore Bullets. The team moved to Washington, and they changed their first name to Capital Bullets. After that, they changed their name in the season to Washington Wizards. Then, in 1997, they rebranded themselves as Washington Wizards, and they have remained so until today.
